SO much going on all at once

Where do I begin?

Well, Easton and Landin started school back in September. They have been in school for 41 days now.

Easton has been thriving at school. Walking more and taking bike rides at school. He currently has been having some really odd issues though. For the past 3-4 months his voice sounds like he has gone to multiple rock concerts and screamed his little lungs out, so he started on relfux meds in hopes they will help with this and also the "gasping spells" he's been having since last year that no one was concerned with. So far, we haven't noticed that much of a difference of him being on it though. For a couple of weeks, he sounded like he was out of breath, so he was getting a NEB twice a day for about 2 weeks. On October 21st we brought Easton to the ER because he was super sleepy the whole weekend before and was "off". When we brought him in his temp was 1.5 degrees cooler than normal and he was having "staring spells". He ended up getting a limited MRI and shunt series done - all were fine. The next day we had to go to Children's Minneapolis to have his shunts recalibrated. While we were there talking with the PA he went into one of these spells and it was super creepy the way he looked. He did this "staring spell" for what seemed like 10 minutes, but really only lasted for a minute or two.

He will be going in for a EEG next week to figure out if he's having seizures that we can't see.

Next week he is also going in to see the urologist and at the end of the month he will be having an upper endoscopy and Bravo done at Children's Minneapolis.

Landin has actually been thriving at school as well. He's gone from a Level 3 - Kindergarten to a Level 2 - 1st grade. He had a IEP meeting on October 22nd which his school proposed to have his comprehensive evaluation done early, so they can re-write a brand new IEP with new goals that are actually things that he needs to work on. We have a sneaky feeling that they are going to change his federal level 2 to level 1. He might even be able to get out of the current school that he is at; which I'm really looking forward to! His current school is ran by a really crappy principal and an even crappier special education teacher; that has a criminal record! (that's a whole other story). I'm having the discussion with his pediatrician to get him onto ADHD meds in hopes that he will be able to concentrate better at school, so that he can continue to thrive!

I think that is all for an update for now . . .
